About

Hi, I’m Genji and creating new things is the engine in my life. Whether it’s DJing, creating and conceptualizing designs in graphic, motion or 3D or teaching my students at the Burke Design Akademie. Everything I do is a proof of my mind set. 

 

Born in beautiful Munich, I grew up between Japanese and German culture. Studio Ghibli, Doraemon and Drangonball as well as Bravo Hits and radio music of the late 80s and early 90s were my constant companions. The first contact with Techno and DJing at age of 16 opened a new perspective on the world for me.

 

After a few years of DJing I decided to learn something more tangible. I went to Stuttgart to study fashion design. After 3 years full of fashion drawing, pattern construction, sewing and a successful graduation I returned to Munich.

 

Through an internship for a swimwear brand I deepened my skills in graphic design. Soon I was responsible for the flyers, lookbooks and catalogs. Over the last years I have done the design for print and digital for various event series and clubs like the Bikini Midnight at Pacha, Circle Of Trust The Roof at Oberpollinger, Why We Dance at Bob Beaman, the Flux in Landshut or the Carpe Diem Beach Club in Croatia. Cover artworks, logo and packaging design has become part of my repertoire. From 2018 to 2021, I was the lead graphic designer at Hearthouse and played a key role in shaping its look and feel. During this time, I expanded my skills many times over. Since September 2021 I found a new home as Art Director at the Munich based design and branding agency ALL NEW ARTS.

 

You are cordially invited to follow my new journey from the beginning of 2024 as I am opening a new chapter with my very own creative brand working intense at the intersection of design, music and clothing.
